     Puffed food is a loose or crispy food made from cereals, potatoes, beans, fruits, vegetables, or nut seeds, etc., using puffing processes such as baking, frying, extrusion, and microwave. Although the safety of nutrients and additives has been criticized by the world, its crispy taste and variable taste are still the favorite of many young people.

    Common puffed food packaging forms are mainly divided into three types: plastic flexible packaging, plastic barrel (box) and paper barrel packaging. Inflatable plastic flexible packaging is a form of packaging: after food is put into a flexible plastic packaging container, it is vacuumed or not, and then filled with protective gas, such as nitrogen or carbon dioxide, and then sealed.          According to different types of inflation, it is divided into two types: air-filled plastic flexible packaging and nitrogen-filled plastic flexible packaging. According to this principle, the inflatable body constructs a barrier between the crispy and fragile puffed food and the package to exert cushioning and shock absorption effects, so the inflatable plastic flexible package has excellent pressure resistance.

    The packaging material of general puffed food plastic packaging bags is generally a composite film packaging bag, which is a combination of printing layer/aluminized barrier layer/heat seal layer (common domestic structures include BOPP/VMPET/PE, BOPP/VMPET/CPP, BOPP /VMPET/EX-PE/PE, etc.), the aluminum layer is not in direct contact with the food. Usually, it is in direct contact with some safer plastics. The products of formal enterprises must be safety certified before they can be eaten with confidence. Generally, this type of product has relatively more oils, and foods are easily oxidized. For example, the smell of oils and fats is caused by oxidation. In order to ensure the shelf life of the product, the barrier properties of packaging materials are usually relatively high. Aluminum is recognized as a material with excellent ductility and barrier properties. Therefore, it is widely used in the field of food packaging.

When the puffed food bag is placed under the light, the fluorescent bright spot will be visible to the naked eye. The fluorescent whitening agent has a radiation effect on the human body and even causes cancer. If it penetrates into the food, or enters the human body through the mouth, skin, etc., it will affect health. Excessive benzene content in puffed food bags can also cause harm to the human body. Most of the reasons for the damage of the packaging bag are caused by external force extrusion, and the uneven force causes it to wrinkle, and more serious damage will result.

    Therefore, the market has the following requirements for the performance of puffed food packaging bags:

    Good air tightness requires good heat sealing strength of the inflatable bag;

    Good oxygen barrier, prevent external oxygen from entering the inflatable bag to corrode the food, and at the same time prevent the nitrogen in the bag from overflowing, forming a “flat bag” problem;

    Good oil resistance and light blocking performance, so the quality of aluminized composite film is controlled;

Reasonable packaging cost control, so thinning and structural material costs are also key considerations for packaging companies.
